ISL is one of the most advanced and powerful integration and interoperability solutions for developing distributed services and agent applications. ISL is a light-weight run-time foundation that integrates heterogeneous agent-based systems, object-based applications, and legacy systems.

This framework was originally developed for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) . GITI has continued to evolve and enhance the original ISL technology. GITI's integration framework has been evaluated and used by over 400 organizations to address integration and interoperability for many diverse applications.

End-users can create and launch a system of agents that monitor diverse information sources (CHAINPlan™) such as relational data bases, web sites, sensors, and many others and alert them by email or phone messages (CHAINMail™) whenever user-defined critical situations are triggered. The system is being used to support critical missions on combating terrorism.
